This series is designed to help you, the dental nurse, write for professional publication. This article discusses how to use previously published articles to support your statements

I am positive that if you are taking the trouble to read this article, then you have some sort of idea for your own potential paper. If you are prepared to do some additional work, then you can almost certainly get it published. Previous articles in this series have focused on: the importance of exploring your motivation for wanting to publish; choosing a topic; exploring the structure and content of your potential article; and looking in more detail at publishing a case study or project report. This article examines the more practical issues of writing—discussing how you should use previously published material into your potential paper.
