Working for an agency

4 mins read Patient education
The Society of British Dental Nurses (SBDN) receives a high volume of calls relating to agency work. Here, its patron Fiona Ellwood hears from Cheryl Walters, of Lifeline Dental Agency on what it means for you

At the Society of British Dental Nurses, we have a current and constant flow of calls from perspective employers desperately searching for dental nurses to join the team.

We also hear from agencies having to turn work away. And then, sadly, we get the odd call where working for an agency hasn’t worked out for a dental nurse as it was expected, which means we have to accept that we rarely get the great experience stories.

The Society has been looking closer at what it means to work for an agency and what an agency expects from a dental nurse. It may be an option for those looking for a change. Here, Fiona Ellwood, patron of the SBDN, hears from Cheryl Walters, who began her own dental career in 1995 working as an office junior in a practice in Torquay.
