1. Make a plan

Ask yourself this – where do you see yourself in one to three years’ time. Then ask yourself, what do you need to have in place to achieve this goal?

It might be that you need to speak with your manager or principal about enrolling on a particular course, or it could be something you must achieve independently. For example, If you are looking to apply to become a dental hygienist or orthodontic therapist, you must do your research in what the requirements are to apply and plan the necessary steps to be considered as an applicant. Contact the training schools to express an interest and confirm with each school directly what they are looking for, as the requirements may vary.
