Think of someone famous that is a great leader. The first person that comes to my mind is Sir Richard Branson. He has got all the qualities required to guide his staff from plan to action and through to completion. A strong sense of vision is crucial. By being forward-thinking and knowing what he wishes to achieve in the future, he can influence people to successfully work together for the good of their customers. Branson recognises that his staff has specific skills and talents that he does not possess. He readily delegates work to team members that he considers to be more capable and he can trust to do a job better than himself. He says “If you really want to grow as an entrepreneur, you've got to learn to delegate” and let go. Generating trust, autonomy and respect within a team creates motivation and a sense of empowerment that ultimately drives success.
