Uniforms are very important within our profession; they help to represent our practices in a consistent manner and maintain the professional image of the practice, as well as being key to cross infection control – which is more important now than ever before!
I feel that putting on a uniform turns on a ‘work mode’ setting within you. As we have to change into our uniform in practice as opposed to wearing our scrubs on the way in during our commute, it can help to disassociate home-life with work-life. Whether you are a fan of your uniform or not, there is no escaping it as they are a vital part of healthcare and they have more of a role than you may think.
