Time to grow up?

In theory, it could be suggested that, collectively, professionals registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) are part of the same organisation. Even though we all work in our own businesses, practices, hospitals, etc, we are part of the same company – in that respect. One aspect of dentistry that always surprises me is how relatively small an organisation we are. We have all met someone from the profession who knows such and such, or has worked with an old colleague of ours. Dentistry is a small world in this respect. With this in mind, this article looks to explore culture within an organisation and to understand what this means and considers our own personal contribution within our own places of work.
