They need you!

BrushUpUK is a charity targeting the 50% of people who do not regularly visit a dentist, in particular those that are most ‘at risk’ such as the elderly, those in palliative care and SEN schools. Its aim is to bring together those dental professionals who believe that everyone should have the knowledge and skills to access and maintain a good standard of oral health.

The charity works with dental practices that release its trained oral health educators once a month to spread the oral health message to targeted groups in their immediate area, armed with the guidance, supervision, evidence-based materials and presentations provided by BrushUpUK. The volunteers are paid as usual by their practices that, in return, become affiliated members of the BrushUpUK charity. This not only enhances the philanthropic profile of the practice, it also gives each educator the opportunity to harness their expertise to really make a difference to a much wider range of people.
