Dental industry expert Edmund Proffitt calls for a collaborative approach to the road to recovery

There is scope for optimism in dentistry once lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

That’s according to one industry expert who is calling on practitioners and their teams to work with dental companies to lessen health risks in practice and ensure a safer return to work.

Edmund Proffitt, chief executive of the British Dental Industry Association, suggests collaboration between clinicians and manufacturers will be key to ensuring the successful implementation of protocols and PPE.

He believes dentists and their teams need to have confidence in the industry to supply correct PPE and other mitigation techniques and products as the world of dentistry gets back on its feet.
