The three Cs – and Christmas

It's changed the way nurses think about their role. Now there's accountability. Nurses have been given a voice.

Most dental nurses would be influenced by all of the above. We all have a certain level of professionalism within us. The nature of the job demands that. If we're lucky, we're inspired by great mentors in our workplace as well as in our lives.

I think the media always pick up on a bad story. We try to steer our nurses to the three Cs – Communication, Consideration, Consent.

Absolutely. We have to be wary as registered dental professionals and follow the GDC Standards for the Dental Team – at all times, even away from work, too. Being mindful of what is appropriate on social media and the internet now plays a huge part in our professionalism.
