In the world of dentistry, dental nurses play a vital role in providing quality care to patients. Moreover, as an undergraduate dental student, I recall dental nurses providing guidance, comfort, reassurance, and humour to myself and all my fellow students as we made our way through dental school. However, despite their obvious importance, it seems dental nurses are often undervalued and underappreciated.

This article attempts to shed light on the reasons why dental nurses aren’t currently highly valued (from my perspective as a dentist) and advocate for a cultural revolution within the dental industry to recognize their essential contributions.
