I am so pleased that Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Flickr and alike were not around during my time at school and university. There are some things that do not require parental evaluation, or be seen by an aunt and reposted endlessly. The Christmas jumper photographs were embarrassing enough, but at least they fade over time. The internet isn't all bad though, it allows me to have my shopping delivered, lets me see restaurant reviews and allows me freedom to more information, but is this the problem? There is a real and inherent risk of using social media. I am not sure how many people remember that anything written on social media can be easily copied, re-posted and all without your knowledge. What you choose to re-post says a lot about your beliefs and values, perhaps even your religious standings or political preferences!
