Lifelong learning has been described as something that, “encompasses all learning activities undertaken throughout life with the aim of improving knowledge, skills and competencies within personal, social or employment-related perspectives”.1
When an individual becomes more knowledgeable about a subject or learns a new skill, it can boost self-esteem and offer motivation to explore further subjects and new opportunities that might not otherwise have been encountered. It is also an important method of understanding not just how to do certain things but why they need to be done.
