4 mins read People profiles
We hear from dental nurse Jo Russell who runs a specialised training and consultancy for practice teams

What character traits do you think you need as a dental nurse?

You need to be organised, you’ve got to love people and be prepared to work in a close-knit environment. You also cannot object to missing lunch o occasion or finishing work later than expected.

Who were your influences when you began?

I’ve had various influences in my dental career – great dentists to work with, great managers to learn from and several people I swore I would never turn out like!

What are the rewards?

Helping people on their dental journey, doing a job really well and having a career of which you can be proud, as well as having great managers that believe in you and empower you.
