Clementine Rees Brown speaks with dentist Paul Cassar about his animal rescue mission to help Misha the bear.

How did your career in dentistry begin?

I qualified at Guys Hospital in 1987 where I did six months as a house surgeon, and then began in general practice. I then moved to the South Coast, practising in both Havant and Portsmouth, eventually ending up here in Chichester.

How did you first become involved in working with animals?

I became a trustee of an animal charity called International Animal Rescue around the year 2000. My good friend Alan Knight, who was CEO of the charity, called me one day, saying that the charity was taking on this project in India where they were going to try and rescue all the dancing bears. The goal was to save them from lives of torture.
