With an unrivalled commitment to volunteering with Dental Mavericks, dental nurse Gina Goddard explains why all her annual leave is spent helping others out of dental pain

Dental nurse Gina Goddard began volunteering for Dental Mavericks just two years ago but, in that time, she has rightfully earned herself the title of 'Maverick of Mavericks'. Firstly, all her annual leave is now spent helping the charity in its bid to get people out of dental pain at its on-going operations in Morocco and Lebanon where it supports rural communities in the former and Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese in the latter. And earlier this year, to mark her 45th birthday, she even committed her ‘fan girl’ status to ink – with the charity’s logo delicately tattooedon the side of her wrist. As she explains, with humour: ‘The Dental Mavericks means so much to me, and to see it daily is a reminder of the good work we do and makes me think of upcoming trips I’ve got to look forward to. I’m a Dental Maverick through and through! It’s also a talking point to engage in promoting such an amazing charity, and, on the off chance I might lose my suitcase on my travels, I can still show who I’m representing!’
