Last month I told you all about our Dental Nurse Implant Course at The Implant Studio in Banbury. I thought I would share a cosmetic treatment that Dr Tom does. We often have people come in who are unhappy with their smile for all kinds of reasons. After a consultation to listen to the patients concerns and examining the mouth, various options can be discussed. In a large number of cases, patients can be given an idea of an achievable smile by using a white wax mock up in their mouth. People often fixate on a particular tooth or teeth thinking that to change this alone will solve the problem. However, this can simply change the original perceived problem to a new area of dissatisfaction. He demonstrates this and they can see what the result could be if the smile is altered, conforming to smile design principles. Options can be given on how to achieve their smile.
