We’ve all been there. That heart-sinking moment when the worn-out mum or dad in front of you in the supermarket queue finally gives in to their child's incessant cries for ‘chocolate’ or ‘sweeties’ just for a bit of peace. That moment when the parent in the surgery tells you that of course they don't give their children cola, but they do like apple juice. Or when you see the 5-year-old child being given a treat ‘because they were so good at the dentist’. Perhaps we even see our friends and family swigging from a can of coke or ordering an extra-large sweet popcorn at the cinema. And, if we’re being honest, don't we all get tempted when picking up our shopping after a long day in the surgery? I know I do!
