‘Spiderman for the afternoon’

Dental nurse Kirsty Nutting reveals why first impressions count

When seeking a new job, any practice that's willing to help and support individuals is ticking the right boxes. A practice that also encourages a dental nurse to progress within their career, offers CPD with ‘lunch and learns’ within the practice or the opportunity to attend courses is also. I would also look for a practice, which comes across as a friendly, caring team as first impressions have a big effect. At Oakdale, my employers have been very supportive and enabled me to achieve further qualifications in my career, such as my radiography, fluoride application and impression taking qualifications. With developing my skills further and gaining these extra qualifications, I feel more confident with my job role and enjoy my career path I have chosen. I would now like to develop my skills further by completing an OHE course and becoming more experienced as an implant nurse.
