Running through life

Cheryl Goodenough shares how to embrace wellness as a dental nurse.

As dental nurses, we work tirelessly to ensure patients are comfortable and cared for, juggling the demands of our clinical roles with the deep empathy needed to support those in our care. In today’s fast-paced world where we are constantly challenged with balancing home life, the integration of physical health, mental wellbeing, and professional satisfaction is crucial, particularly in demanding fields such as dental nursing. Where did my journey first begin? Well, it all began and has always been intertwined with my love of running.

My journey into running first began alongside a new chapter for me in dental nursing, marking a big shift after four vibrant years of entertaining the public singing and dancing around the country. While I loved performing, I wanted a career that would still allow me to prioritise health and wellbeing in a new way, as well as support my role as a wife and mum of two daughters.
