It will explore the significance of both, which go beyond professional image and are an intrinsic part of workplace health and safety policies. There are implications for dental care professionals (DCPs) who need to comply with guidelines on PPE and uniforms.

During my time working in dentistry, I have noticed trends developing for dress within the dental profession. When I was a child, my dentist always wore a white coat buttoned up with a very nice tie, no gloves and no facemask. Personal protective equipment was not required back then.
