The responsibilities that come with registration with the GDC are not just confined to the dental surgery. They also apply to the dental nurse’s personal life. This article describes the GDC expectations, as well as where to seek further information.


Background

Whilst registration for dental nurses in 2008 formalised responsibilities there was historically always a clear expectation of appropriate professional and personal conduct by the dental nurse.

However, registration meant that the expected standard of conduct became a legal and ethical requirement, as laid down in the GDC’s code of conduct for all dental registrants. So, what are those requirements?
