Can you give us a little background on how you first got into dentistry?
I have been dental nursing for 17 years, starting in 2006! I had always known that I wanted to go into dentistry - my goal at the very beginning was actually to become a dentist. But as with so many people, ‘life happened’ and got a little upside down, so I was unable to make the grades to go to university. That didn’t deter me from still wanting to go into dentistry however, and my local practice that I had been going to since I was tiny was looking to recruit new dental nurses, I went and successfully applied and was there for 11 years and have been ‘locuming’ now for six.
