Like our patients, we too will have our own resolutions to improve an element in our lives, with the majority of these addressing health and lifestyle enhancements. As a dental professional, consider seizing this opportunity to inform patients that oral health is a window to their overall general health and wellbeing.

Isolation

Historically, the mouth has always been considered in isolation to the rest of the body. This falsely led to the belief that what happens to the teeth and the oral cavity is independent of general body health. Today, we are well aware that this is far from the truth. In fact, oral health is intrinsically interwoven with our general health. This message must be relayed to our patients in order for society to become aware of this critical connection.
