Studying for a healthcare profession such as dental nursing requires dedication, good communication and interpersonal skills, effective organisational skills, and the ability to stay resilient under pressure. But these qualities are tricky to maintain if you’re sleep-deprived. The social pressures of university can also be difficult to balance, and often, critical aspects of our health, such as our sleeping patterns, end up suffering.

Sleep is incredibly important for optimal health. It allows us to process information quickly and learn effectively. Getting enough good quality sleep keeps our cognitive faculties ticking over and also enables us to manage our emotions better, so it’s not something that you want to compromise on.
