New mums, old tricks

I have been a dental nurse for 15 years and qualified as an oral health educator in 2013. I have never looked back. Since qualifying, I have given several oral health talks locally to more than 20 schools, nurseries and playgroups. Last year, I decided to work alongside an amazing charity called BrushUpUK. I also run a weekly an oral health session, giving one-to-one oral health education to children and adults who may require more education to improve their dental status.

I am just a small cog to the wheels in motion trying to improve the nation's oral health. For the last five years, I have been giving post-natal oral health education to several Sure Start groups and now work closely with BrushUpUK to provide regular six-weekly talks to new mums covering teething, brushing techniques, weaning and dummy advice.
