There are very few of us who welcome change in the workplace – unless of course we are the architects of that change. Even then, we may take time to adjust to new methods, a new job or responsibilities or even a new workplace.

Change can happen quickly in the dental environment. An investment in a cutting-edge piece of equipment, a refurb of the practice or team training in additional treatments or procedures all put pressure on dental nurses to adapt with a chameleon-like effectiveness and ease in order to continue the delivery of high quality care.

Strong leadership and a team approach should help everyone to acclimatise to new ways and minimise any related disruption. But what if the change involves staffing?
