This year’s Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) Team Congress was held on May 4-6. For cinephiles and sci-fi geeks, May 4 marks the annual Star Wars Day. Although the official theme for the conference was ‘individual excellence or team triumphs’, the coincidence was too perfect to pass up for the organisers.
In the opening ceremony, Amit Patel, ADI’s president, took the Star Wars theme fully on board. He entered to the iconic sound of the Star Wars film score playing in the hall, but it was the two space buns on either side of his head (reminiscent of Princess Leia’s iconic hairstyle) which showed his dedication to the theme. Amit’s speech went on to welcome the delegates and thank them for the event’s “record high attendance”.
