The initial lockdown saw private practice Care Dental Platinum and its sister clinic, The Care Dental Practice (a mixed practice), launch complimentary virtual consultations (albeit it a little earlier than planned). These online face-to-face Zoom communications – already in situ for their more phobic patients – offered anyone in need of dentistry a semblance of the services they were being denied.
Run by Dr Bashar al Naher and his two daughters, clinical lead Safa and business development manager Sara, they have seen uptake rocket.
Here, Safa recalls their experience and looks ahead to ‘doing dentistry differently’.
Comfort zone
Patients seem to prefer to have virtual consultations from the comfort of their own home whilst speaking to us. They are in their comfort zone, taking their time speaking to us about their dental concerns or their dream smile and there’s real rapport building with both the treatment coordinator (TCO) and dentist. They feel completely relaxed and love the fact that our TCO rings the patient first (talks to the patient about our treatments and listens to the patient) and then gets to speak to our dentists who will address their concerns clinically.
