When was Keep Stoke Smiling created?

In January 2018, the orthodontic team at Royal Stoke University Hospital, led by Karen Juggins, embraced digital technology and made an innovative change to engage patients in looking after their oral health. As the majority of teenagers spend between four to seven hours a day on their phones, we began using social media to bring dental health messages into the 21st century. An Instagram account, @keepstokesmiling, was launched and proved to be an immediate success.


Is the campaign specifically aimed at orthodontic patients?

The campaign was initially aimed at orthodontic patients but we soon realised that parents of patients, friends of patients, hospital staff and schools were also interested in the information we provided.
