Communication is not just about talking to patients – although this is obviously an important part of your role as a dental nurse. How you approach your patients and how approachable you are can make or break the clinical experience for patients, especially for those who may be nervous or anxious.

But good communication can also have an impact on record keeping (the interaction between you and the clinician) and confidentiality (the interaction between you and anyone else who isn't the dentist or the patient in question) with the latter obviously extending beyond the four walls of the surgery.
