Looking over her 10-year career to date, Rebecca Silver suggests it is a good team who make a difference to the role of a dental nurse. Here, she champions the concept of team spirit

When I first started working at Waterside Dental Health in London’s Canary Wharf six years ago, I felt this practice really embraced the essence of ‘team spirit’ within dentistry. From the beginning, it was very much evident that we were a team and that I was part of the Waterside ‘family’. The clinicians were so inclusive of all treatment that I learnt so much within the first six months.

Within a couple of months of starting work, management decided to place me on the conscious sedation post-qualification course. Laleh Sharifian was a big help to me whilst revising, as was Anish Shah. No question was too small for them and each answer I got came with a smile and an explanation.
