Dental nurse Claire Kaur offers her top tips to help your new job go swimmingly

I started my career spending four years at a small dental practice in Blackpool, then moved to a larger practice and stayed there for over 10 years. This larger practice was a brilliant place to work and I was very settled in my job. I had no intention to move on, but then I met my partner and, in time, decided to move to Manchester to live with him and applied for a position at the maxillofacial and orthodontic departments in a Greater Manchester hospital.

I was very nervous at the thought of starting a new job, as I was settled in a senior position and very confident at the practice where I had spent most of my working life. But my life was changing, and it was a natural time to move on.
