This has become a legal obligation across many regulations held by various regulatory bodies (Care Quality Commission (CQC), 2015); General Dental Council (GDC), 2013; Public Health England (PHE), 2013). Therefore, we must all ensure we adhere to strict protocols to the best of our abilities in order to prevent cross-contamination of any sort.
