Rachael Norton is head dental nurse in a high-end cosmetic clinic in the heart of London. Here she reveals how a dental nurse can be the jewel in the crown of any successful practice

Rachael Norton is 30 and has been a dental nurse for seven years – but is ‘still learning new things every day’. She has been at Bow Lane Dental Group, situated in the city of London, for five years.

At Bow Lane Dental Group, we have everything under one roof, so I get to work alongside specialists, including an orthodontist, endodontist, periodontist and implant dentist. As well as this, we are well known for cosmetic procedures including veneers, crowns and whitening.

As head dental nurse, I'm also involved in out-of-surgery tasks, such as ordering stock for the practice, following and updating CQC requirements, sending off treatment plans and organising my dental nursing team. I have always worked in a private practice. I really enjoy the level of care we are able to provide for our patients.
