I loved dental nursing from the very start. I qualified in 1997 and will always remember opening that envelope with the exam result inside. I was so excited and determined to make this my career and to keep learning and developing my skill set further.
It was hard work with so much to learn and the only way to qualify was by working all day and attending night school in the evening – but I knew this was the career for me. Seeing nervous patients enter the practice so scared of the procedure ahead of them and then leaving, relaxed with smiles on their faces, made my day every time. Knowing I was instrumental in that turnaround of belief and attitude by the care and understanding I was able to give them made me so proud. I loved that I could help to make that difference.
