Diamond Dental Staff’s Emma Anastasi offers insight into how to succeed as a locum dental nurse

What personality traits do I need to become a locum dental nurse?

Remember, time is limited. You need to be adaptable and understand that the practice has you in because they are short staffed, so this could mean that the room is not fully stocked. The clinician could be frustrated that they are working with someone new who doesn’t know where anything is kept – so thick skin and excellent communication skills are required. Get to work early to familiarise yourself with your surgery, the day list and, just as importantly, team members.
