The Covid-19 pandemic has transformed the policies and procedures in almost every industry, forcing us to take immediate corrective and post-pandemic preventive measures. The dental industry is no exception. Fortunately, dental professionals have adapted to sound corrective and preventive measures that have not only strengthened patients’ trust in practices but also ensured the safety of dental professionals in all respects. In doing so, dentists and nurses, in general, have made commendable contributions that set an example for other industries as well.

Dental professionals play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the policies and procedures for their practices to ensure clients ‘trust and their dental teams’ safety. To achieve that crucial goal, they have adhered to the government’s general policies and their own specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) according to their particular setups and practices. For example, a study conducted by the University of Leeds explains that various types of drills and aerosol sprays are used in dental surgery, which aid the spread of droplets. By choosing to use a drill with reduced aerosol spray, dentists can create a more sanitized environment for their patients and dental teams.
