
While dentists, hygienists and oral health educators are best placed to give patients advice on caring for their teeth and mouth, it’s useful to be aware, as dental nurses, of some of the situations that could arise with your patients in the run-up to the festive season. Many practices see an increase in patient numbers in the month of December, simply from patients panicking that their dentist will be closed for a week at the end of the month. Others will take advantage of the extra few days off work to schedule in that long overdue dental check-up. However, some patients may experience dental dramas as a direct result of the festivities, we take a look at what those could be.
