Charlotte Wake considers both the magic – and the reality – of our social media activity

What happened to the days where our reviews were all word of mouth, there was no Facebook page to like, no Twitter feed to follow and no Google page to leave your reviews? Some of our staff and patients won’t remember a time when this wasn’t so – the times before smartphones, Instagram and Snapchat. Today isn’t all bad though, it makes it easier to get a shopping delivery, to look at potential restaurants and even look up your dental practice!

These are all instant and excellent ways to market your dental practice. By using Facebook, you can create a post that might be liked and then shared and, within minutes, it will appear on a newsfeed of someone who may never have even heard of your dental practice. They might trust the judgement of their friend who shared your post saying how great you are and hey presto you have yourself a new patient!
