Where do you work?
I work at Amwell Street Dental Practice in Hoddesdon. It is a training practice that teaches dental nurses to become fully qualified dental nurses.
Where are you studying?
Alongside my practical training in the dental practice, I am learning with Anderson Stockley Accredited Training. They teach me through face to face learning, including a mixture of to-1 assessment, revisions, and observation visits.
What are the strong points of a good dental nurse?
The first two strong points I have that I feel go well together would be listening and being one step ahead. I have worked with the same dentist for the last year and I can guess some of the things that he may ask me to do, such as getting a periapical or occlusal X-ray holder, what to lay out when doing a treatment and what to write down in the notes when he is speaking to the patient. This is all from me being able to pick out specific keywords that he says in a discussion with the patient. With these, I can help the day run smoothly and help the dentist be on time with the busy schedule.
