The pandemic it seems was a nudge for many dental nurses to re-evaluate what they are doing, where they are in their careers, and what other options are out there for them.

Pre-Covid-19 there was a tendency for practices to think they were doing nurses a favour by hiring them, yet the pandemic has shown just how important it is to have someone skilled when working in the pressurised environment of a medical setting. Dental practices are slowly realising the true value of their dental nurses and that without them they would be lost. As the Dentistry Census discovered, dental nurses were ‘considered to be ‘essential’ to the success of a practice by 84 per cent of respondents.”
