Selina Sufraz reflects on rediscovering her passion for travel within dentistry.

Working within dentistry is an incredibly fulfilling path to follow, whether that is as a dental nurse, dental therapist, or indeed as a clinician, like me. But let’s be honest—it’s also demanding. From long hours on your feet to the pressure of time and patient care, and the stresses, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. For years, I poured my energy into my dental career, owning two dental practices and raising three children all along the way. My long-held dreams of travelling seemingly became more and more distant, something I’d once loved but could no longer seem to find the time to even think about anymore. But, life as we well know is an unpredictable thing, and in 2018, right as I was about to give up hope that I might explore the world and use dentistry to give back to others, everything changed.
