Anyone who has worked in a dental practice for any length of time will know that every practice will have its share of nervous patients. Some will be only slightly tense at their visit, others utterly terrified, but for all, both staff and patients, the experience of the appointment won’t be as positive as it could be. Fear of the injection or the needle is far from unusual, so much so it has its own phobia, trypanophobia, in the dictionary. It’s also not unusual for children to be quite scared, often the fear of the unknown or picking up on their own parents’ anxieties.
