CRB: What initially interested you both about working within mental health?

SC: Without a doubt my own life experience has informed who I am today and how I see the world but what really drew me to this field of work was through my role as a ‘coach’, I developed an interest in psychology, and I became more curious about people’s mental health and wellbeing but being mindful there are a safe set of boundaries in place that I could not cross. From this point I decided to embark upon a journey to become a counselling practitioner, and further my work in mental health and suicide prevention – I haven’t looked back.
