Preetee Hylton talks to Kirsty Herridge about her career

What prompted you to go into dental nursing as a career?

The honest truth is that I never knew what I wanted to do, but I had a friend who was a receptionist in a dental practice and in 2008, when the recession started, my husband was made redundant. My friend mentioned me to her practice principal and he interviewed me over the phone and offered me a full-time position as a trainee dental nurse. My husband became the stay-at-home parent to our one-year-old. Sometimes things just fall in to place and happen for a reason. Throughout my career I’ve met some fantastic people and had some wonderful opportunities afforded to me. I work hard and I see the rewards with patients and the fantastic team of people around me.
