I started working on the reception desk as a first job in dentistry, having been a stay-at-home mum. As I discovered the different treatments our patients were having done, I wanted to learn more. So I studied to become a dental nurse within the same practice. I attended Woolwich College in south London to do my dental nurse training attending classes each weekday.
More recently, I combine my skills as a dental nurse with treatment coordination for our patients. My biggest challenge throughout my career has been juggling family life with the changes in regulation within the workplace, as well as finding the time to do the CPD required. I try to read as much as I can, when I have the time, and attend courses when available. I have five children to add to the mix! Being busy means that I always get things done – and I am often the first at work each morning.
