Why dental nurse Sarah Washer shed few tears when she ditched the idea of studying dinosaurs and footprints to step into the wonderful world of dentistry

Sarah Washer is 28 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2013. She says she ‘fell into dentistry. She explains: 'At first, I wanted to be a palaeologist. But now it’s the best career move I made. I have worked as an implant dental nurse and in orthodontics and I am now in general dentistry.'

Having trained in a private practice, she now works within the NHS and believes ‘quick thinking, dexterity, and a sense of humour’.

Her influences when she began her career? She says: ‘Myself! I told myself if I can qualify as a dental nurse, I can do anything.’
