Rebecca Silver discusses the importance of face to face and networking for dental nurses

Do you remember when you qualified to become a dental nurse? Was it before the global pandemic Covid 19? Did you have classes face to face? If you did, then your learning experience was probably vastly different to today’s trainee dental nurses.

Since Covid, many training schools have turned to online-only. This has become a wonder for many people as it means that their lives can continue and they can fit their learning around their needs. Many dental nurses have other commitments including jobs and children and having online classes allows them to gain their registration around other obligations. Many companies now allow trainees to access videos and information at any time. They can send their coursework electronically and get feedback whilst lying in bed if they wished. But, it cannot be forgotten that some people need that face-to-face to help them learn.
