Sally Dixon discusses how a great team can make all the difference when it comes to quality
of patient care.

Aside from the corny, motivational Instagram connotations, nothing rings truer in a dental practice than ‘teamwork makes the dream work.’ Working together as an efficient and harmonious dental team leads to increased quality of care for patients and an overall enjoyable experience for everyone involved. So, what makes for a great dental team?

A good dental team is founded on respect and trust between individuals. Dental professionals should always be fully aware of their own individual roles whilst being mindful of the roles of the rest of their team. The key to getting a great team together is for each member to understand the variety of roles and responsibilities within the practice and have a clear definition of who does what and when. Understanding skill sets and even which individuals work best with each other are all key elements of teamwork that can contribute towards a smoother running practice and better patient care.
