Clinical audits in radiology

4 mins read Audits
This article looks at the different areas that can be audited in radiology, the cycle of events, and key points to remember when carrying out a clinical audit

Clinical audit is a quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes. This is achieved through systematically reviewing care, using comparisons with a set standard, followed by the implementation of change. Aspects of the structure, processes and outcomes of care are selected and evaluated against a set criteria. Improvements are then implemented and the process re-evaluated, thus completing the audit cycle.
